Loblolly Pine 

Pinus taeda

Tree Description:  Tall upright evergreen. Grows up to 80 feet tall with 30 ft spread. Moderate to fast grower.

Twig/Bark:  Dark colored bark with irregular, broad, flat, scaly ridges.  

Leaf:  Needle-like. Generally 6 to 9 inches long, rather soft and flexible in bundles of 3.   

Flower/Fruit:  Light brown cone.  

Habitat: Tolerates drought, poorly drained soils, set clays or swampy lands.  Growth rate is moderate to rapid.
